Growing up in the beautiful state of Washington I have always had a deep love and appreciation for the outdoors, especially the lakes and farmland that can be found east of the Puget Sound. For the first 18 years of my life, I spent a lot of time fishing, enjoying bonfires with friends and family, gardening, and taking care of the many animals on my parents' property. At the age of 16, I started working for a local restaurant and continued in that industry for almost 8 years until I graduated with a bachelor's degree in finance and a minor in economics.
After graduating from college I moved down to Texas and became an eager resident of San Antonio! Here I started my career and met my partner pictured with me to the left. What a hunk! I have been here for over two years now and am just getting used to the heat! After work we spend lots of time cooking, working out at our local gym, and enjoying a well-deserved glass of wine. I am very excited about what is to come and appreciate you taking the time to learn a little bit about me!
My Motivation
As an employee of a popular restaurant in my college town, I found myself collecting many resumes from other eager university students seeking to make some money and gain experience while they had free time. Most of them were competing against many others with very similar credentials. A stack of around 20 resumes could always be found above the cash register, so in the rare moment, we had a little downtime I would entertain myself by sifting through them. I frequently imagined myself as the manager and would theoretically decide whom I would choose to interview in the stack. I found that it was impossible to get an idea of an individual's character or work ethic from a single piece of paper so the tiniest details were what I relied on to choose my top three candidates. Long employment history or detailed work experience was hard to find in this group of young adults so what I found sticking out to me were resumes that did not look like the rest. Any evidence of extra effort, including varying fonts, styles, pictures, or unique organization always caught my eye. These minor details intrigued me enough that if I were in charge, that is who would be getting an interview. This little experiment soon motivated me to rebuild my own resume in hopes to stand out when applying for internships and jobs after graduation. It was an extraordinary feeling receiving a compliment on my resume and there has never been an interview I have attended where a comment was not made on its uniqueness.
Over the years I started updating and building resumes for friends and family and have recently decided to share my knowledge and ability with the world! With a bachelor's degree in finance and as a full-time employee of a local bank, I have developed a strong professional background equipping me with the "know-how" when it comes to building a well-qualified resume. Alongside years of experience in many different industries and working closely with hiring managers, I have gained an insight into the hiring process and I would greatly appreciate the opportunity to help you get your next interview or even better, start your career!
